In curating the best postcards I can find, many cards arrive to me with minor imperfections; sometimes it’s a small ink smudge on the back, and other times an entire set arrives with the corners slightly bent.
I always try to remove these postcards from my inventory rather than passing the imperfections along to customers; that said, the cards are in great condition otherwise and would likely be totally fine for most uses (as the damage is inconsequential compared to that of the same postcard after it’s sent through the mail). Rather than disappoint anyone expecting mint condition, I’ve chosen to offer these cards separately at a discount for anyone who just wants postcards of some kind to send and doesn’t mind a few small flaws.
In the spirit of imperfect produce boxes, select the number of almost-perfect postcards you wish to receive and I’ll send you a mix of designs depending on what’s on hand at the moment! You’ll never receive anything that’s badly damaged; all cards will be in good working order, and you and your recipients may not even notice the difference, particularly as many of the imperfections are confined to the postcard backs. The most common flaws are as follow (see photo gallery for examples of average magnitude, in order):
- Bent or blunted corners
- Ink smears or smudging
- Substandard stamp impressions on the card back
These postcards are a great option for mailing, papercrafting, Postcrossing, and more!
Note: If you’re hoping for cards of a particular type (e.g. animals, 5x7s, etc.), feel free to add a comment to that effect when you place your order, but please note that this listing is entirely based on availability, so I may not be able to accommodate these requests. Thanks for understanding!
