Go Get ‘Um Tiger Postcard

Founded in 1999 in Olympia, Washington, Buy Olympia offered a way for the founders to support their artist friends in pursuing their passions. The company has since become an international operation, publishing and distributing work by amazing artists of all kinds from their current home base in Portland, Oregon. Today, they focus most directly on amplifying art that inspires wonder, sparks smiles, and encourages self-expression.

This postcard features original art by Trish Grantham, whose heartfelt paintings of anthropomorphized animals and objects include statements of encouragement rendered in creative hand lettering. Printed with pops of color from soy-based inks on relatively thin but high-quality recycled paper, the postcard corners are rounded to avoid bending in the mail. The backs feature a line of information about the art, printed in gray along the bottom edge of the card.

From the artist: “I moved to Portland, Oregon in 1998 with a broken heart. My ex-boyfriend was a painter and I helped him with composition, but I had never done art on my own. So when I made it to Portland, I decided to buy some art supplies, get really good at painting, and kick his ass!”
